Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Participates in the Middle East Space Conference

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority participated in the second edition of the Middle East Space Conference, which was held over three days. The Authority also took part in the accompanying exhibition, where it presented an introductory overview of the Radio Monitoring Station.
The conference represents a leading regional gathering for space and innovation within the GCC region, showcasing the Sultanate of Oman’s extensive capabilities in space industries and satellite technologies. The event was organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in the Sultanate of Oman, in partnership with Novaspace. It aims to reinforce Oman’s position as a regional hub for space sector development.

Telecom Sector Opens New Outlet in Al Suwaiq for the Nafadh Initiative

The telecom sector has opened a new outlet for the Nafadh Initiative in Wilayat Al Suwaiq, North Al Batinah Governorate, aimed at providing a supportive work environment for freelancers in the telecom and information technology sectors. This marks the initiative’s first expansion outside Muscat Governorate, as part of efforts to extend its reach across various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The launch comes within the telecom sector’s broader efforts to empower freelancers by offering an enabling environment that supports the development of their technical skills and transforms them into digital products and services applicable to the market. This enhances their role as active contributors to the digital economy and supports the creation of flexible and sustainable employment opportunities.
The initiative target graduates of telecom and network engineering, providing multiple pathways, whether through joining operating companies in the sector or pursuing freelancing and entrepreneurship. Nafadh focuses on building practical skills and enhancing professional readiness, contributing to the digital economy and enhancing the efficiency of the national workforce, in alignment with Oman’s strategic direction for telecom sector development.

Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Launches Domain Name Services System

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has launched the Domain Name Services System in collaboration with the Royal Oman Police and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. The system aims to streamline and accelerate domain name service procedures through digital platforms, support digital transformation, and provide smart, integrated services. The system enhances the experience of accredited registrants by offering user-friendly electronic services available around the clock. It also improves service efficiency and quality, reduces the time and effort required to complete procedures, and minimizes errors resulting from manual processes.
The system targets companies wishing to become accredited registrars for the .om domain, existing accredited registrars, as well as individuals and entities interested in registering distinctive domain names.
